High Temp Sealant

TYTAN High Temp Sealant resists extreme heat of up to 600°F. It may be used to create an airtight seal and is flexible enough to resist mechanical vibrations and climate and construction movements. It should be applied in a temperature less than 104°F and is resistant to slumping, and shrinking. It has excellent elastic recovery and resists UV radiation and weathering. It provides a strong seal and bond to most non porous surfaces so you can be confident that it will remain sealed and secure in the most extreme conditions. With TYTAN High Temp Sealant you can Build with Confidence!

Application instruction

Uses:

  • Interior
  • All-in-One

Surface Preparation:

Surface area must be fully cured, dry, clean, and free of dust, oil, grease, debris, contaminants, or release agents that could interfere with proper adhesion. It is recommended to perform and evaluate preliminary adhesion and compatibility tests before use. For proper surface preparation techniques visit the “Try TYTAN” section of TYTAN.com.

Application

Cut nozzle at 45° to desired bead size, insert in caulking gun and apply to desired area. Tool bead with moistened cloth and wipe off excess before it cures. For best results, tool immediately after applying for best adhesion and smooth finish before skinning occurs. Please see the technical specification for acceptable application temperatures and other technical information.

Clean Up

Remove Sealant off gun and all tools before it cures. Use typical solvents such as Mineral Spirits or lacquer thinner (ethyl acetate, acetone) and let dry to prevent any damage. Cured sealant can be removed with sharp tools, using caution.

Technology Limitations

It should not be subjected to continuous heat above 500°F and temporary heat above 600°F. It is not fireproof and will not withstand direct contact with a flame. It is not a waterproofing sealant but does require some atmospheric moisture for curing. It should not be applied in areas that are completely sealed off during the curing process. It should not be subjected to solvents. It may stain concrete, masonry, natural stone, or other sensitive materials. It shouldn’t be used on high traffic areas. It is not paintable.

Safety

Keep out of the reach of children. Wear safety glasses with side shields. Direct contact with eyes may cause slight to moderate irritation. In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek immediate medical attention. In case of skin contact, wash affected areas with soap and water. If irritation persists seek medical attention. Move to fresh air if inhalation causes discomfort. Refer to MSDS for further information.
