It does not react or corrode metals and may be used on most construction materials like concrete, metals, polyurethane foam, PVC and most plastic surfaces. With TYTAN CG25 Neutral Cure Sealant you can Build with Confidence!
Uses
Surface area must be fully cured, dry, clean, and free of dust, oil, grease, debris, contaminants, or release agents that could interfere with proper adhesion. It is recommended to perform and evaluate preliminary adhesion and compatibility tests before use. For more information visit the “Try TYTAN” section of TYTAN.com.
Cut nozzle at 45° to desired bead size, insert in caulking gun and apply to desired area. Tool bead with moistened cloth and wipe off excess before it cures. For best results, tool immediately after applying for best adhesion and smooth finish before skinning occurs. Please see the technical specification for acceptable application temperatures and other technical information.
Neutral Cure Silicone releases methanol when curing instead of acetic acid so it is more pleasant to work around. Neutral cure silicones are more versatile than Acetoxy silicones and may be used on metallic surfaces such as copper, brass, bronze, zinc, and iron. It is also compatible with alkaline surfaces such as concrete, plaster and brick. Its adhesion to plastic is better than Acetoxy silicone and it may be used on PVC, ABS, Polyester, Acrylic, and polycarbonate.
Neutral Cure Silicones are not recommended for continuous water immersion use and shouldn’t be applied in totally confined spaces where it is not exposed to atmospheric moisture. It is not paintable and should always be tested before use on sensitive materials like natural stones that may bleed oils or plasticizers.
Remove Sealant off gun and all tools before it cures. Use typical solvents such as Mineral Spirits or lacquer thinner (ethyl acetate, acetone) and let dry to prevent any damage. Cured sealant can be removed with sharp tools, using caution.
